    Well this thread proves it for me. My rear end bounces with 500# springs, and my shock mounts are fine, as well as poly sub frame and TA bushings. I guess i need to give bilstein a call.

      Your shocks may be blown. Bilsteins run with H&R Race springs at 570 in the rear. Or are you so low you are hitting the bump stops perhaps?

          I think theyre blown. 500isnt too stiff, and im running the 6inn springs that used to be yours. so, low but not slammed. Hopefully billy will replace them

            rebuild/re valve on bilsteins is only $75 each

            rebuild/valve on koni's is like $185ish each, not to mention they cost 2x as much as bilsteins and in my experiance with them on vw's in the past years, don't last nearly as long

            cant ever go wrong with bilsteins :D haha

              Keep in mind, the rear spring rate is totally different than the actual wheel rate.

              With a 500 lb spring the actual rear wheel rate is about 230.

                      It's leverage. The rear suspension wheel ratio is .45, so 500 x .45 = 225

                        Good to know, I had been thinking the motion ratio was higher than that.

                        750 x .45 = 337.5 in the back
                        550 x .88 = 484 in the front

                                I was referring to the question in the original post.

                                What is the the maximum rate I can run on a bilstein before it needs to be revalved, or do I even need to worry about this?
                                ...and didn't see where anyone had considered it when discussing the rear of the car.
