Lol that is one option, but I love to tinker with things, so metal seems to be the way to go, pus would leave me a lot more options as far as adjusting the ergonomics .

That's some high tech shit you're talking about. Pressure treated? True Value hardware? That stuff is out of my league. Mine is very similar to Lee's, just without all the nice clean cuts and holes. I was lucky enough to have access to a metal brake so I have a side piece like his that goes to the floor, to prevent my foot from catching upon clutch release.I think everyone's favorite hick racer JGood got a piece of pressure treated 2x4, cut it to 6.5" in length, drilled two 1/2" counterbores with a Forstner bit on 4" centers, then put some 3/8"x1.75" hex bolts sourced from True Value hardware to secure it to the E30s floor. A little bit of grip tape and you're in business.
Total cost: $5.24.Comment

I was looking @ Lee's, and had asked to see how the one for "gutted" cars looked installed - never got any pics.
I wound up making my own. Some angle iron, sheetmetal, a few nuts and bolts, topped off with non-skid adhesive step tread material.
Lee's looks like a damn nice piece.Current Cars2014 M235i2009 R56 Cooper S1998 M31997 M3Comment
