That engine is very wicked. Although, built for a different purpose. Obviously it wouldn't work out so hot for GT racing :) Still very cool though to see what an engine is capable of.

I believe he was using E85 for that run, but its been a while since I read through everything.

That run was also on the old setup, the bottom mount Neuken style turbo manifold and the Precision SC6169e A/R .58.

I don't believe the HX40 topmount setup has been dynoed.

www.e30.se has some more information and also another M42 build.

Lots of the parts the Swedish guys use can be purchased from www.pure-pf.com

The M42 has a lot more potential than people give it credit for

I've done some more diggin into this.

    615hk -> 606 hp

Now the turbo is quite large, on par with a GT3582. Without spending ages trying to find the correct compressor maps here is a GT3582

At 1.6 bar or a Pressure Ratio of 2.6 the turbo is pretty well spot on efficiency wise and pumping about 50lbs/min. Using a rough conversion of 10.5hp to every lbs/min (as suggested by the garrett site) you get 525hp.

Now consider that the engine should be quite efficient at 7500rpm thanks to all the head work he has done. Say conservatively it is operating at 115% efficiency (VE).

This just scrapes through at the 600hp mark (603.75). So either their dyno is full of shit or the engine is operating somewhere around 130-140 VE.

eh, whats it matter, the thing is making great power and would be freaking fast!

    EDIT: wow e85? nice!
Methane is a gas (technically could be used as a fuel) not a fuel. You would be referring to Methanol.

That thing is glorious. Thanks wazzu.

Its gotta be either a high reading dyno or more boost than 23psi.

And that is the A/C compressor im seeing, yes?

I couldnt find any programs that translate svensk:(

It is a 2L with a big free flowing head, intake, exhaust and turbo. It is quite probable, that is 23psi. Can't be bothered to read and check that figure was on 1.6bar though

Am I reading this right or does that build thread say that it makes 615hp on 1.6 bar of boost
