Sorry I wont be running in DSP. I forgot about the M50 swap. So maybe Prepared or SM.
The real problem is the tires that are available.
Basket weavs would work but its deffinately not one of the better ways to go about this.
The wider the tire the bigger the heel, thats what sucks ass here.
So to get to a 285 you need a 18" wheel thats 9" wide.
I'm trying to make up for the width of tire for weight and gearing.

Holy caster! If you'd increased the wheel base by 3 inches you front wheels would probably rub on the inside of front turn signals.

      Did you mean "track"?

9 or 10 wide is fine.

Thats just the point. I don't want to have to got to something taller than stock even if it does give me a 285 tire.

People amaze me. Why go at everything the hard way?? You're going to run 13" tires with an m50 swap??

Put on some decent wheels and tires and get some seat time. Once you start getting competitive then try some other options.

Oh and try listening to people like Alex that know what they are talking about. There are a few like him on here that can provide a wealth of knowlege to you, providing you don't piss them off with your first post.

"Decent wheels and tires". Have you ever run 13" wheels and tires...then how do you know??

I don't care if its Mario Andretti, if he responds like a jerk (like Alex did), I don't give a shit what he has to say. I'm no good at kissing ass.
Maybe Alex is successfull at the National level, so then should I copy anything he does and call it gods word? Fuck no, its a basis to get even better.
OMG I'm so different. I'm going to run a 13" wheel. Oh no can't have someone do something original on the E30.

I love the positive input but if a person with alot of experiance is going to fuck with me instead of tell me straight out it wont work and why, then I'd rather them not respond at all.

Yes on a '78 Honda Accord and on my boat trailer.

Running something that doesn't fit and grinding your suspension to make it fit is NOT original, it's foolish.

He did, they won't fit without massive spacers or altering the suspension. As far as him not being positive, what do you expect when you come up with something as stupid as this?? You expect serious answers to such a dumb fucking question??

I wouldn't ride in a car with the kind of spacers required to fit that wheel.

                    Bad idea.

People who know what's up are giving you good advice. They are giving you the advice because they've been around the block and see what works and what doesn't.

Want to see what the best wheel, tire, and suspension combinations are? Look at the older fellas running e30s in drivers events, spec e30 race series, and other competative groups. None of what you're talking about is used in any of those such events becuause they don't work as well as the things that Alex (and everyone else) is telling you.

Get a good set of 14-16" wheels. Get a good set of tires (225 / 245). Past that, you're going to have to do some major fender work. Going with yout 12-13" wheel idea is going to seriously mess with the e30 suspension settings and create sub-optimal geometries.

Look at what BMW used when they raced the e30 (even non-M3s) in touring car series. They might be in the know...

Lastly...just go drive. All the mods in the world won't mean a damn thing if you suck as a driver (and unless you've got a lot of experiance on track / auto-x, you do suck).
