New E30 to HPD

I just bought an E30 and want to take it to an upcoming High Performance Driving day at the local road course. I'll clearly be checking the brakes-upgrading the pads, going over engine fully-doing any maintenance items and replacing fluids, and the tires seem a little on the old side (tread is decent) so I'll probably change those as well...

Are there any e30 specific things that I need to watch out for and check?

Unless you know they've been done, you'll probably want to do basically all of the bushings.

Didn't read through the entire sticky, but everything I read is general track prep... I'm familiar with all that.

I'm more concerned about e30 specific weak points, like the aforementioned timing belt. Assuming that there are other concerns that can be shored up for the day.

That general track prep sticky helped me quite a bit. Besides timing are there any e30 specific weak points? I think that e30 specific weak points can be any car specific weak points, if nothing is well maintained then obviously can be hazardous. You said your aware of track prepping then you should be fine. The car is 20 years old, so there are the obvious things such as efficient cooling system, no cracks in brake lines or fuel lines, bushings.. etc etc. As long as you have done proper maintenance I do not think there is a weak point. Anything that has been overlooked as of maintenance will become weak regardless of make and model. Engine/tranny mounts are prone to cracking (never happened to me) but many have said that they have failed even if even they appeared to be in excellent condition, I guess double check them.

You seem to be aware of track prep maintenance so you should be fine. Go out, have fun and post some pics :D
