School me on wheel studs guys

I searched here and bf.c, there's not a ton of info on wheel studs here, and quite a bit on bf.c, but it seems like there's a lot of different situations / variation on whats happening with studs... From the 5-10 threads I read at bf.c on the topic, there wasn't an overwhelming "BUY THIS BRAND, THIS SIZE, FOR THIS APPLICATION" mentality... So, I'm wondering what you guys might have to say, since I think a new thread over at bf.c would get more "search noob" responses than helpful ones...

Car's mainly my DD, sees track time as well as several autocrosses each season...

I had my eye on the Bimmerworld 75mm kit for like $95 or whatever it is... Studs for each corner and black nuts. Anyone have any thoughts on the topic?

PM me for detailing services in the Longmont / Boulder Area in Colorado!

If you are taking your wheels on and off on a regular basis wheel studs are nice to have.
Keep an eye out, or if you find a good deal on a set- buy them.

      Wheel studs are great.
I bought 16 from Ireland engineering 57mm for only like 60 dollars shipped.
      Lug nuts come with.
A lot of places I looked you had to buy lug nuts separate IIRC.
IE also has 75mm studs, looks like it will be 100+ for 16

Im not 100% sure about the 75mm, but I know that my 90mm for sure wont fit under my caps.

I have the Vorshlag kit studs and I am enjoying them a lot. The build quality looks really good and they went in easily. 90mm size because I am going to be running 20mm spacers with my Volks TE37s that are ET40

I will get the sizes, I use a wheel stud from Ford with an oversize lug nut, I think its mabe 1/2" stud or 7/16". It uses a one inch socket for the lug nuts, but I have to use steel racing rims I belive a 45 degree face seat. The drill size to drill out the old threads in the hubs is something like 17/32 drill bit ( I will find out for sure) Then the studs will be inserted from the rear and use a lug nut backwards to press it in to place.

not sure what you want to know. get bulletnose so you are less likely to cross thread. install and go. bimmerworld kit is a good one. there's also a race kit that bimmerworld sells. i run those on the spec e30.

We use SAE press-fit studs (as another poster listed above). Simple as drilling & pressing into the hubs. A LOT less expensive than the screw-in studs AND very rarely experience any issues (unlike the screw-on type that seem very prone to cross-threading and/or galling. Common acorn lug nuts (with caps removed) work very well while keeping the size of the socket smaller for wheels with smaller diameter holes.
