yes. they're pretty nice wheel. wide enough, and light enough. cheap enough definately.

yes. people can buy 225/??-14 R compounds and one of the club racers Jet H. was using them IIRC.

but be careful, they are S-O-F-T and will bend easily. That's why I have more bent weaves than I could care for. But cheap enough and easy enough to replace. Having wheels easily available is good.

That's the only thing weird about my Panasports (the wheels Trent used to use as track wheels). Supposedly Kyle (bimmer8604)'s boss has a bunch and can get them, but they're rare and about $200 a pop, so replacement might not be easy.

also smaller diameter = cheaper tires.

trent has 17in superleggeras too and the tires cost more to replace then 15" ones. another consideration.

MOST IMPORTANTLY THOUGH. why do you need R compounds?
Have you ever even been on the track? Didn't you ball up your former 318is on the street?? You probably don't need to be fucking with Rs yet.

Just get you some Falken Azenis. You can drive them on the street if you want and they have great grip for the track. They are also about as cheap as anything you can find.

well, i think im going to be getting the goodyear eagle f1 gsd3s and they are known to be a GREAT tire but i have heard of people having problems wit them chunking and ruining them in a matter of minutes. SO i want to get some wheels and tires for the track and thought why not go with something that will have a lot of stick. Im used to racing tires on my kart anyways. although the time the r compounds will last is kind of a turn off

novices shouldn't use r compounds. and usually won't be allowed to.

"why not go with something with real stick" i.e. more stick than you need or is safe.

my azenis lasted two weekends, including a few sessions of SERIOUS abuse. they get a little greasy, but do great and can handle it.

You want undersized tires (195/60/14) and you want to stay the hell away from R-compounds.

                            Azenis RT-215, Azenis RT-615, or Hankook R-S2.

since there is a 70% price increase for RT615 from 215's, BUY 195-60-14 AZENIS NOW ALREADY! $222 shipped or close to, for all four.

Or I hear good things about RS2s.
