225/50/15 ES100's. Good tire, good stick. More than the shit-ass falken.

lies. i like my 195s azenis over 205 es100s. of course, not on the track, but around backroads.

es100 is an overrated tire. if it cost the same as others, it'd be shit. but for the price, it's good.

I'll compared them this summer in Auto-X.

Half the cars running street class at the BMWCCA auto-x's are on azenis, including the top 4 places.

          BMWCCA autox's are a joke.

That being said, ES100's or Azenis are cheap and come in a 14 inch size. Go with either and run them. I prefer the Azenis from those two, but either are fine for HPDE usage.

Not so much here in Houston. Some of the top performing SCCA drivers run in our CCA events. Ours are open to all types of cars, not just BMW.

well i might just use this setup on the street too. These were the wheels i was going to buy http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3AIT&rd=1 and i could still get them but i'd also be another 500 for the tires i want. I could spend that money on something like ground controls which would probably give me better handling with the falkins then just the goodyears. I just cant decide what i want to do!!!!

bottlecaps and azenis or ban. those will be my setup for the upcoming HPDE.

now, what pads are u guys using? my brakes are probably metal on metal by now, so i think im gunna get the tms kit with the ultimates and steel lines. Should i get some different pads for the track and can i replace the stainless lines with out dropping the subframe?

I like azenis on 14" weaves. they are lighter than the bottlecaps and a little bit wider too.

meh, i don't think it matters that much. my weaves are bent (yes, a few in this set as well ..... soft fucking wheels + bad Indiana roads)

gonna use the two from Alex to replace them, or swap over to bottlecaps. but big deal. just cheap 14" wheels and tires, and go out there. NOT FUCKIN R COMPOUNDS ON SSR COMPS or stupid shit.

yes, prefer weaves. but caps are cheaper.

i hated the es100's. suck when cold. seemed a little jittery for lateral adherance. got a fair amount of skip at the track. im running kumho mx's this summer. much better.....but not as stickey as i would like. the mx make alot of "singing," but warm up quickly and are VERY consistant. i had some e30 buddies running the new hankook rs2's. didnt warm up as fast as the mx's but had much better lateral stick, good liniar brakign characteristics, were quiet and best of all.....inexpensive. they definately had better response and lateral stick over the mx's.

yeah but my bottlecaps have snow tires on them, I'm definetly not using those at the track. ;)
