"now, what pads are u guys using? my brakes are probably metal on metal by now, so i think im gunna get the tms kit with the ultimates and steel lines. Should i get some different pads for the track and can i replace the stainless lines with out dropping the subframe?"

How about running stock rotor replacements with some nice Hawk HT-Plus (street/semi track pad) ? or even better HT-10... with ATE Super Blue fluid? You should be able to do the lines w/o dropping the subframe..

Just my two cents - I'm running Toyo T-1s on my miata and they're awesome. Great lateral grip and made a big difference under hard breaking. They are pretty cheap at the 195/55/14 size as well, you just have to do some looking around. An excellent autocross tire and they'll last a lot longer than r compounds - plus they won't kill you if it rains. My 89 325i has 205/45/16 kumho 712's - a decent street tire for cheep, but not enough stick for what you're looking for. I'm also running Hawk plus street/track pads and they were worth every penny. Hope this helps.

es100 is an overrated tire. if it cost the same as others, it'd be shit. but for the price, it's good.

I'll compared them this summer in Auto-X.
          Confirmation:

Yes. ES100s are shit tires. I'd rather have 205 Azenis than 225 ES100s. They're fine and dandy for the street, but are disappointing in Auto-X.
