I've heard nothing but good things about the bilstein HDs. I plan on using those but I've also heard HRs were pretty good.

I only know HDs at this point, still a newbie.
That iX launch at the dunes is wicked sick, but remember, in rally, the goal is to finish the event. There are jumps available -- and you can take them -- but make sure you don't ruin your car on Stage 1. At Maine, there's a jump for the spectators on Day 1, but even the top runners, L'Estage, Higgins, Duplessis, etc., rolled over it to save the car. Boring for spectators, a chance at winning for competitors.
But I am jealous of the guy at the beach.Comment

New OE rubber or the HD rubber upgrades are what I would recommend, unless it's a caged race only beast, then I'd probably go poly. Metal mounts just seem like a bad idea to me...

That really depends on the surface. If you're on a site with considerable grass, snows will be faster. Especially if you are in the 1st heat on a fresh course.Build : Das Drehmoment UngeheuerComment

Our local SCCA chapter has a new venue for RallyCross. Its hard packed, graded and the course includes an old go cart oval track. At last nights meeting they emphasized that the course is "street car" friendly. There is some grass that disappears after run 2 they say. I have 2.93 open rear, which has been fine for AutoX. How do you all think it will run in those conditions? Snow tires all around? 8/27 is the next event and I need to get a set of wheels and tires for the event.sigpic
