mine? a 2.5 ton 300hp caddy without the factory recaros would be an attempt to follow my family's tradition of "Worst time of the day" trophies. My dad got his in '68 in a Chevelle SS, I think that I'd have a good shot at it.Alpha Team Inductee

im a total newb to track days, but im planning on getting my racing license this year and am building a dedicated track car
It's a tried- and- true method of figuring out what can be a very expensive and frustrating addiction....
...and a street car's a good place to start, THEN figure out what you want in a dedicated car.

thanks for the recommendation Toby, but Im already in full swing of building the car. I knew my budget wasnt in the Pro3 level, so Ive been building the rabbit to ICSCC's Club Rabbit (CR) specs. I had the motor, I had a shell, it made sense. I know what my budget for racing is, and it certainly isnt anywhere that can justify building an E30 for track only duties.Simon

Our next event is June 22.That's the friday before the E30 picnic,so if your coming up early anyway, why not bring your helmet and play?
Even if you cant run Friday, you are always welcome to come to watch and just hang out with a bunch of BMW owners at the track.1990 325is "the rat"/ E30 Warsteiner tribute racecar/1985 325e "faded Glory"/ 1968 Chevy II Nova "the baby"/ 2001 525i 5spd purchased May 2013 with 16k miles. First of all,Welcome to the BMW CCA!
When Dana and I joined we had never owned a BMW, we ran a Acura RSX (fail) then a Shelby GT (bigger fail!)for the first couple of years before we bought our 1st e30.We just fell in with the wrong crowd and now we're addicted to this stuff ! :D
Bring the Merc! Our next CCC is in September( the P-club has one coming up sooner) and our next HPDE is at the Ridge in August!1990 325is "the rat"/ E30 Warsteiner tribute racecar/1985 325e "faded Glory"/ 1968 Chevy II Nova "the baby"/ 2001 525i 5spd purchased May 2013 with 16k miles.
