To Because Racecar, or Because no racecar

Well, to avoid a story. I ended up with a spare 325es.

It runs, it's a 5 speed. Its got a straight body, little rust (battery tray). It has a blown HG. It needs some suspension work (wheel bearings, axle boot).

I have about $550 in the car, including me towing it home.

I have someone who wants to buy the tranny swap. Or I can because racecare it. The way I see it, if i were to autox it, I'd be swapping all the bushings for poly, and replacing contraol arms/tie rods etc and running stock suspension anywas. Does it make more sense to do it from this vehicle, or to find a car in better shape?

I thought this was a charity thread.

if you have a dd and plenty of time, why not just stick with this car. if it has FL rust, then it shouldn't be too hard to remedy.

Well, it's really debating if you're better of starting from a better platform. A car that has been better cared for.

I already have one stupid V8 car, I want something that I dont have to take to a circuit to do anything fun - I just cant afford that. Thinking something a little more comfortable to run around a small autox course.

Race it. Eta's can make decent Enduro cars - better mileage, more torque, and reliable. Just throw a cage in it, and run ITB.
