op none of that really matters. if you dont feel like your up to dealing with the swap then its not gonna happen. either way you still have a 302 sitting there if you want to do it later. I just wanted to dispell the notion that a 302 is a heavy engine thats worthless. With billet pulleys., an alum waterpump and intake your back down to the weight of an m20 and you can get easy hp out of it later if you want.
    .
most importantly you need to get out and have fun sliding your car. m20 m42 s52 lsx 302 what ever. it doesnt matter if youve got a smile everytime you sit in the car.

Stopped by the local tire shops they were super cool about hooking me up. Now whats a good tire for the fronts.

Lol forgot about this thread. Still slowly building the car had some financial set backs so its going slow. Any thoughts on a welded diff in DD. I have a 2.93 open is it worth welding it(have a garage full of welders so its free)

Honestly dding a welded isnt ideal but once ur used to it its not terrible. Just remember its a dif animal when its wet and it will push u into oncoming traffic if ur not careful. Also i'd look for a 3.73 and use that. Even with the 302 it wasnt geared very well. I got my open 3.73 for like $20 and welded it. Just traded that for a 4.10 welded and i love it but thats with the t5 so not sure on a stock tranny.

3.73 is nice then because itll give u the quicker accel u want but u wont outrun your gears right away.

I'll be on a look out for a cheap 3.73. Practicing out in the country with a open diff isn't fun.
