e36 M3 brakes yes. I won't be running anything smaller then 17's though, definately not RK's either.

Loath SSR's, and the only BBS wheels I would ever run would be LM's or CH's, and only in 17/18. Not that I can afford either lol.

I will never be tracking this car enough to warrant purchasing a set of expensive light 16's.

I'm not really worried about the extra weight either it's DE and lapping not a club race or solo 1. I was at Tremblant this summer and had to top up the tank every two sessions which I found to be a PITA, that's all.

Given the coin you have wrapped up in your motor, oil starvation should not be taken lightly. Watch your oil pressure during sustained left turns. Your bearings will thank you...

I never knew until very recently that our e 30's have issues w/ oil pressure under certain situations on track...like as mentioned, lt. turns/sweepers. Many racers use sump systems. etc......there is also a very hi buck oil pan on market by apex(?) for like one grand! I dont know if DE ing a car can cause issues but an oil pressure gauge might be just the ticket for all of us that track.

turn 2 (running clockwise) was where i noticed a flickering/solid oil pressure light on the m20. kinda put a damper on my day.

....do you over fill a bit for track days?........

              what oil do you run?

did you ever get any symptoms like in the way the engine felt? ...

from what I've been told (by people much more experienced with BMWs than me), you're pretty much okay putting a full 5 quarts in your sump all the time. that's what I've always done and it's never given me any troubles.

                  4.5qts fills.
                  5qts is just fine too.

I had a full 5 L of castrol GTX 20W50 at all my track days, had no oil pressure flicker.

I usually dump in 5 quarts, that's the whole bottle of the 18 dollar Mobil 1 jug at wal-mart, the sock I used for an oil cap soaks up the excess.
