i just bought an ERG Pro-X open face. its Snell SA2000, and is basically a Bell Mag4 'replica'. Well, since the Mag 4s are discontinued, apprently this company uses the old tooling facs, or some bullshit.

i borrowed a mates ERG ProRace(closed face), but it wasnt as comfy as the open. make sure you try different ones on to see what you like the feel of. and maike sure you get the size right!

I thought you preferred wearing Glenn's pink helmet, Jake?

You know, the 4in one with the split at the top?

I've got a GForce SA2000 something or other. The guy down at the local BMW shoppe says that's all he uses.

                  I picked up a SA2000 G-force open face helmet at www.gforceoutlet.com
I dont know why they have such cheap stuff at their outlet, but I got some nice gloves and the helmet for under $120!

                        Bell M3 Pro

I've got a Bell M3 pro also. I think a closed face helmet is the way to go, because you need every bit of possible protection in a crash, and teeth, jaw, etc. aren't really expendable. I think buying a helmet based just on comfort is a mistake: once you're wheeling at speed on the track and you're trying to get through Turn 1 (Thunderhill) at 100MPH you don't even NOTICE the "discomfort" you felt in the helmet showroom. I bought the best-made, lightest, full-face helmet I could afford. And Bell Motorsport pumps huge amounts of moolah back into racing and safety research.

the coordinator of the june DE i was at actually very much supported closed face at the track because cars can kick up rocks, marbles, etc. and some woman got nailed in the face with some such debris.

the visor can protect your eyes unlike the cool inbetween helmets people have been posting. that, or wear sunglasses.
