My car has ground control coilovers, bigger sway bars, rear sway bar reinforcements, front ground control race camber plates. I think it should handle a "track" pretty well. I still maintain that a quarter mile track is a track. There is no way to really argue the point because it just is.

Thank you to those that aren't dicks.

Some will say a drag strip is a "strip" and a road course is a "track." Mere technicalities, which in this case, I find it rather silly to argue about, since we all know exactly what's being discussed.

            Nice times, man.

I don't see what's wrong with finding out your cars acceleration. I hope to do a before/after comparison with my car this spring (if I can find a drag strip around here).

That was a pretty ignorant statement. Theres not a damn thing wrong with finding out how fast your car is in a 1/4 mile. He spent a lot money on that motor Im sure, so I see nothing wrong with getting solid evedince of how it performs. He didnt build it to drag race. Nice suspension set up, nice car and welcome to the board.

If "basterdizing" is putting a turbo on it and putting race seats in it then I'm guilty. Its not like I ride to work everyday strapped in the 5 point harness. And hillbillies and rednecks are the only ones that race in a straight line and in circles for a living. Most of the hobbiests with quick cars aren't hillbillies.

Dude, i guess by ocean city you mean seaside? Not much change really, turned up the boost a couple psi, put a full exhaust on it. still no sticker though:shock:... I guess you were at the meet, sorry i dont' remember you, which car did you have?

                  Thanks

Jordan must understand where i'm coming from with this. On his cardomain site he has his "Bragging Rights" off to the side there.

                    Bragging Rights

                    Quarter Mile

                    14.2 sec @ 97.9 mph

                    0-60

                    6.1 sec

                    est. HP
                    206 hp
                    est. wt.
                    2743 lbs

I guess Quarter Mile is only cool if your slow...

There's Pacific raceways, the same place that has the road course in auburn. The road course uses the drag strip as a straightaway. So yeah, that's a track semi near bye. I can't remember where the other track is at, but I know there's another one I think in bellevue, not sure.

Drag racing is so much fun in its own right, granted it doesn't have crazy cornering, but not all cars corner and handle like bmw's. If you wanna look at how many G's the pro's take, the top fuel dragsters are taking 4g's accelerating and another 4 g's in decelerating, that's accelerating to 333 mph in 4 seconds then try and stop in another 1/4 mile, I doubt any bmw's could do that, so just because you can corner, doen't mean your better, their compleetely different types of things that depend on what you like best.

OH yea, the 318!! Yea, it was a pretty good meet. Can't wait till next year, we have to find a better place to hang out though... I should start looking around, I live in the area.

These are not straightline cars - they are faster in the twisties. you are trying to make it a straight line car. Whatever. Might as well get a Camaro.

And yes, there are dicks here. Its part of the charm. If you want a lovefest or a hug, especially from the turbo guys, hang at e30tech.

Not saying you aren't welcome here - just learn to take some shit.

Dave.... I dont think hes making a straight line car. You know from reading it in this thread that he has quite a bit of suspension work done. I dont see a thing wrong with making the kinda power to keep up with ///M5's, Im sure its fun as hell. Its got a great suspension set up so you know it still handles. He obviously built the car to be driven, not just dragged.

Cool, let him post some lap times. Just saying that the e30 was never meant to be straight line fast -- at all. But, people drag Solaras and Insights, so . . .
