    Nice looking build.

Whatever you do, watch out for Keiran Goby out there. His #56 is really fast and the boy is a shoe!

Good luck with the build and your season!

Oh, paint the car Orange....that is the fastest color ya know...;)

Also, be careful with a white interior and glare. I used battleship gray after learning that leason....MUCH better.

+1 Jeff - Don't leave the front tubes of the cage white. Flat black or grey is a must.

He's gotta get on track to prove it, first!

It's been a while since I've updated so here goes. A couple weeks ago I picked up a donor e30 from craigslist for cheap. It had a badly slipping auto trans, but otherwise was in pretty good shape. We attempted to drive it back to the shop, but the 45 mph top speed and the inability to climb a small hill cut that trip short. Got a tow up to the shop and then pulled the engine, steering rack and axles out.

So this last weekend, I dropped the rear end, installed the proper bushings into the trailing arms, bolted up the axles and brake calipers, and lifted her back onto the car. So suspension-wise the car is 95% done. All that remains is to attach the brake lines and tighten the tie rods.

I also finally got my seat in! And judging by the date, it was made to order!

Next weekend, the plan is to finish doing maintenance on the engine, then drop it in and fire her up!

Had a long weekend this last weekend and got a good amount done! Finally got my crank scraper after waiting for almost three weeks so we could drop the motor in. While I was waiting to do that, I decided to paint/clean up some of the engine components which turned out pretty good looking.

I also started fitting the dash (round 2) which is going to need some creative mounting.

                Lookin' good!

I just looked at your cage...how the hell are you going to see out the back? That big "box" in the middle should be interesting to look around. Also, you really should consider some NASCAR bars on the drivers side of the car. Just a suggestion, but I can't tell you how invaluable they are.

Seat. A car that nice deserves a Racetech seat. Sell the cobra and get a bark-o-lounger Racetech seat.

Fire system - install the hoses now while it is really easy.

                Nice build.

We installed the mirror (Wink) this weekend as well as I was kind of curious about rear visibility. Turns out there's only a very little blind spot, so it's really not too bad. The cage builder and I have discussed NASCAR bars at length and determined that they aren't really necessary. Are they added insurance? Sure. But you don't see rally cars or other professional race cars using NASCAR bars.

I'm hoping to get a nice halo seat by next season at least. Having sat in the Cobra before, I knew it fit me perfectly so I went with that. I don't have the budget right now for a more pricey seat though.

Fire system will be plumbed this weekend! :)

                  Thanks,

                  -Jeff

                        It's getting closer and closer!

                        Things completed this weekend:
                        - trans/driveshaft installed
                        - fire suppression plumbed
                        - drivers harness mounted.
                        - window and side nets mounted
                        - exhaust is on (minus the muffler section) with an extra o2 bung welded in

And probably some more small stuff that I can't think of at the moment.

I apologize for any broken necks. Unfortunately the photobucket app won't let me change them. I'll take care of it later.

Yeah, it's been a while I guess! I've been cranking away on the car day and night for the past couple weeks. Here goes-

After spending little time sleeping and putting a lot of hours of work on the car to get it ready for this last weekend's NASA event disaster struck. Working all night/ morning on Friday, there were issues with a leaky fuel injector that had been initially fixed. But, when the car was started at about 5:30am in preparation for a test drive, the engine went up in flames after running for merely seconds. Luckily a fire extinguisher was nearby and the fire was put out swiftly. But the damage was done.

                                There goes the weekend.

It was so close. But alas, things happen. It will be rebuilt and it will be ready and waiting for the next event.

                                Carnage-

On the plus side, the livery is pretty much done!
