    Top speed limiter

What I learned last weekend: the latest ECUs have a top speed limiter at 125 mph.

What you do, in a hurry- unplug the diff sensor.

I'm running a -524 ecu, because it was there, no chip.

When we switched from 225-50-15 to 225-45-15 RA1's
    (there's a BIG circumference difference,on the order of 3")
we started getting into it at the end of the
    front straight, at about 6000rpm.

At first, I thought it was a fuelling issue, but it was too consistent,
always right at 125, and it wouldn't do it in 4th, nor pulling hard up
out of t6, which usually shows up a fuel issue, too. After some trolling
around the paddock begging for help, and a bit of research(thanks, James) I bumped into
one other person who'd seen it (thanks, Chuck!) so we unplugged the diff.
And that fixed it. He said they had a problem with it even with a chip...

Things you know, things you think you know, and things you learn...

Yep, a 524 DME has a speed limiter. But you can disconnect the wire to the engine harness that supplies the speed signal to disable it.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
