Ideal tire for 16x8.5 on an e30

hey guys I was just wondering what size tire would be the best performer on the e30 chassis with a 16x8.5 wheel?

Not taking fenders into account. As taking fenders into account would probably mean a decent amount of stretch?

    215/50?
    225?

    Thanks.

225 are the right tires but, if you want some stretch go with 215s.

I dont want to but I might just to get them on. I do plan on fender flares or something custom in the future so proper tires will be on them at some point.

Ground Control coils with 2" taken out of the strut housing up front. German Engineering rear adjustable out back. Bilstein sports all around.

I like the tire size and set up of the blue cabrio in this pic. I know hes running 16x8.5s too just not his tire size.

they look like 215/45/16s? all around right?

Sorry if this just turned into a stance thread. Mods move it to wheels and tires if you see fit.

yeah one my questions for you was if you are getting the memory fab wheels because that size is rare! next question was are you using this for track or street 8)

those wheels are sick but I heard they probably aren't great for track abuse. Anyone know of any company making wheels that look like these mtechnica turbos that are durable for more than just drifting?

Unfortunately I have heard about their softness too. I'm actually inquiring because I just picked up a square set of 8.5'' wide salad shooters. I'll be running them on the street mostly but I do wana get my car to some autocross events next season!

Yes. Can I not run adapters at auto cross events?

Sure as long as they pass tech.

But if you were serious about "performance," you'd just run the 16s as your street wheels and pick up a separate set for play time.

                              Either a 15x8 with 205/50 or 225/45, or a 17x8 with 235/40.
