That is a little tough to learn to do, but it is the way to go fast.
Its amazing how much faster and smoother it feels to be looking waaay out there!

Yes. I'm not going to disagree with that, I'm constantly reminding myself to look further ahead, but even so the seat just felt amazingly low. My eyes are almost in line with the top of the wheel.

Would that kirkey seat be enough? We want head restraint and will be running 6 points and a hans. This is all overkill for lapping days, but this is likely to become a lemons or chump car in the future.
We have that seat and love it. You'll have to measure the width of your hips to properly size the seat. If one of you is considerably narrower you could pad it. We range from 6' 250# to 5'7" 145# and all of us are comfortable in it (no padding needed). I really like the helmet wings in case of a side impact.

ETA- we run a 6pt and Hans too

You could lower your steering wheel with a spacer (That's what we did)

I have OMP HTE XL's in my E30 on VAC Motorsports floor and side mounts. The regular version of the seats run pretty skinny, so I went with the XL being 5' 10" / 200#. This a HPDE car for now, so I wanted to have some flexibility with instructors varying size too. You will need to get the optional lower lumbar pads for almost any OMP seat as they are are too flat backed. With the lower lumber pad (which can be mounted anywhere you like on your back), it's a very comfortable seat. I use a Simpson Hybrid Pro H&N, so the need for a halo seat wasn't there, but I still like the idea of it and it doesn't in any way affect my field of vision. I'm going to put this same seat in an endurance car I part own too. - AB
