Actually comparing the rules, '16 also had the engine/trans separate in the rules, but combined on the tech sheet. Looks like they revised the tech sheet to avoid confusion and we just happen to skate by. We still would have been under, so no harm in not claiming them.

We also have an EC car. It's a 1998 Benz e430 with an LS1 and T56 :D

Still under development, but did a race at Sebring in Sept. Only have this video though...
