This is the best pic I could find. I was wrong, they don't extend onto the floor pan. They just wrap around the seam at the rocker, and are welded at the bottom (close to where the floor pan joins the rocker). Don't mind my aluminum foil, it served as masking while the interior was being painted.

    Wow, that's an impressive fit!

When you drill the bolt holes, you'll get a good sense of how
much meat they're attaching to. If it's only one layer, I'd be
backing the pads up with a bigger plate, but if you get significant thickness,
a good backing plate underneath and off you go.

They bolt on the rocker edge with backing plates. They are in fact longer then they are wide. I believe the rocker area is a stronger mounting point then further inbound on the floor, but I could be wrong.

Haven't finished my install yet as I want to paint my bar and clean up some interior pieces still, but I am very excited for the bar to be completely done.

They probably bolt to the rocker edge, which is only about 2"-3 wide. They look like they are much longer than they are wide.

Those base pads look very small- what do they attach to?

How much did this cost you?

I know, just posting as a reference. I don't have any direct experience with the Kirk in an E30.

That's pretty aggravating.

I wonder why the rear stays on the Garagistic bar are bent? Also, it simply doesn't make much sense to me that they're using .120 4130, when the primary reason why people go chromoly is to save weight because it's significantly stronger than DOM, and you can get by with smaller diameter tubing.
This is where my Kirk bar ended up in my E36 M3.
