Some wouldn't want a cage in their street car.
And a cage weighs a lot more than a harness bar.
One other note here (and I found this out the hard way) some cages are nothing more than extra weight and a false sense of security.

Less costly as well.

.
While I agree the chances are low, a few videos of cars on two wheels including a couple WAY on two wheels as well as LOTS of pictures of cars lifting both inside wheels makes me a little uneasy.
Put another way. While still low, your chances for a rollover autoxing are MUCH higher with an E30 than with lots of other cars.sigpic

But not like high speed smash and tumbles that would normally cave in the lid.

Who said anything about cages?
A 4 pt roll bar has the same intrusions as a harness bar.
All I'm saying is there is really no benefit of a harness bar over a roll bar, but there are many benefits of a roll bar over a harness bar.

Only the weight difference is a real factor.

Then why were you debating every one of my posts? Nevermind, don't answer that.
Yes, the ~30 lbs extra of a roll bar for the peace of mind that you probably won't die in a roll-over. That's correct.

I'll answer you anyway.
Not really debating....It's a Zen thing... All things are not black and white.... Every thing has it's intended benifits and it's draw backs...
Only pointing out the rational reasons for a harness bar...
Me, I'm paranoid... Seen and Crashed a lot of cars... I like a full cage.
