Camber plates

    Vorshlag plates have a lower stack height that GC's and have huge sphereical bearing to take track punishment. The lower stack height gives you more suspension travel.

      Ive been told that Vorshlag is going to redesign their mounts, you may want to wait.

      Has anyone used the adjustable Bimmerworld mounts? How do they adjust, can it be done without removing the strut? I need a set to get enough camber on my DD/autocross car so i can run A3S05's without killing the shoulder.

        I talked to Terry Fair, and for about $50, you can change from old-style mounts to the new billet machined mounts that they are starting/getting ready to make.

          Ground Control's design is dated, and you don't have completely full adjustability because the design makes it so the bolts hit the side of the strut tower at -1.0 degree, which my car is currently at. I do get more suspension travel than without them though. For what they cost, there are other options. They do have more travel than KMac plates as well...







          I have more toe angle problems than anything else, its wearing the insides of my tires fast. Check your toe angle too if you haven't.

            Im confused...you can only get neg 1 degree of camber w/ the gc plates...thats a bit absurd.

              No, I mean thats the least you can get before the bolts hit the strut tower like in the picture above. You cannot put it to zero. You can go all the way to -2.0 or so. When I first had it done I pushed it as far back for the most negative camber I could. When I went in for an alignment, the machine read -3.4 in the front. I pushed it back to -1 when I adjusted the plates.

                ok so lets review:

                The least amount of neg camber you get is neg 1.
                You have seen as much as neg 3.4.........was that both sides?......



                but what do you mean when you say " you can go all the way to -2.0"

                  When I put the camber plate itself to the -2.0 mark, the bolt hits the other side of the strut tower. I put it to this setting when I first had the car. However, when I took it to a shop for an alignment, the alignment machine said -3.4 on both sides.

                  While the plate said -2.0. That is all.

                        I ordered a set of adjustable mounts from Bimmerworld. As of now my car has -1.8 R and -1.7 L. These are supposed to add 1.25 degrees which should be enough to run my A3S05's. Ill post on here after install.

                            They def add a bit of camber, they also seem to bring it back more positive on the end of the spectrum. Kinda helps for daily tire wear. Only downfall is the 1/4" [6.4mm] additional height, and ive got 10mm spring hats

                              Well, not the day after my last post... busy weekend with the gov cup! [got 5th then 2ed in DSP]

                              Anywho, they were easy to install, just put loctite on the bolts going into the plate and anti seize in the channels where the adjustment bolts sit. Simply remove struts, knock out the bearing studs and bolt the plate on the strut. reinstall.

                              Plates, since the website does a horrid job of showing them:



                              Installed on strut with 10mm spring hat


                              Full positive:


                              Full negative:


                              This is not exactly correct. The first image is where the strut bearing 'appears' to be in the stock location. Keep in mind this is spaced 1/4" and thus it has a little bit of negative camber.



                              Full positive, will not go past current setting, in my case -1.7/-1.8 degrees


                              And full negative, for me it should equal an additional -1.25 degrees, or -2.95/-3.05 degrees.


                              No actual measurements, i was going to locate a pinion angle gauge. To adjust, raise car, loosen bolts from top and move strut, tighten back down and its gold [bronzit]
