New spece30 legal camber plates... Ruff?

I just did a google search and came across that... I'm hoping it's not like 2 years old, LOL. I've never heard of them before.

Any know anyhting about these? Looks like you wouldn't need to cut the shock tower to get full range of motion...

They're new. Carr is switching over to these, so they have an intro price on them.

They look to be very high-quality pieces. Saw a set of them last weekend.

According to CARR: "With the RUFF camber plates, the bolts are countersunk in the upper plate--so you don't have to remove the inner 2 bolts for additional camber."

They're a really good deal right now with the introductory price just over $200.

Do you think the stack height will raise ground clearance when compared to a stock upper mount? I just mounted some 16x8 et20 rota's with 205/50 r-comps and it's close... I actually wouldn't mind gaining a 1/2 inch or so. I'm going to have to roll the fenders as it is.

Not sure on that one; give CARR a call [336.931.0007] and talk to Brian or Carmine

Just got off the phone with Brian from Carr. Real nice guy, very helpful.

These plates will keep ride height nearly identical to stock upper mounts, where as their Ground Control plates that they are phasing out will lower it about 1/2" compared to stock mounts. He said they are very impressed with the overall quality of the plates. They are currently in stock, ready to ship.

I'll probably order a set tomorrow along with their IE Spece30 swaybar kit. I should have them installed this weekend or next week, I'll report back with the results.

Did you install them yet? Glad to hear that you like them, that's more reassurance!

These camber plates came in my Spec E30 Stage 2 build kit from Carr Industries. I've only driven the car a few miles with the plates installed, but they seem like they will do the job just fine. They are very quiet, unlike the Ground Control race camber plates on my E36 and E46, which makes them very livable on the street, IMHO.

Does my install look right? The nut doesn't thread the whole way... maybe 4 full turns. Those spacers made to fit the Bilstein shock seem to really add some height to everything, and make it so that you can't thread the nut on all the way. I just don't see any other way to install everything. The bearing inner race should be thinner and the spacers shorter.

Hmmm... I wonder if I remove 2 of the bolts if I could get more camber? You can't tighten them anyway, they go underneath the strut tower. So, this is really just as useless as the IE and GC plates... you can't have 4 bolts tight with it all the way over.

LOL, look at the blood on the old strut mount stud. I tried holding it without gloves while using an impact. I've never seen so much blood come from my body that fast.

Here is a pick of mine installed. It's using all the threads on the strut assembly nut.

I'm surprised you can't incorporate more of the threads into your nut... what brand struts are you using?

The ruff plates came to Carr w/ the wrong thread size, and they had to modify the upper nut for a temperary fix. They will have a permanent fix that incorporates the upper seal and will use all the threads on the nut. All customers that have already bought the Ruff plates will get the update.

Also, by loosening the 3 nuts that secure the plate to the strut tower and dropping it down a few inches, you can get to the inner 2 bolts for camber adjustment. I wouldn't really suggest removing those bolts, but, man you could get some serous negative camber!!
