    FUH RAZE auto-x numbers!

Check out my uber-pro magnetic auto-x numbers! I just bought a couple scraps of magnetic sign material from the local sign place, printed out my numbers and made templates, and cut them out of the magnetic material with a utility knife. I think I might do a little block at the same angle as the numbers, and cut "STX" out of it, to go next to the numbers, like a negative. Whatcha think of 'em?

      Those look really good.
If you're going to any National events they'll pick those apart though. For local events those are pretty nice.

Yep, they look better than the guys who stick paper numbers on the car and they fly off after 1 run LOL :)

And like mentioned above, they do have to be of specific size if you go somewhere where they care about that ;)

Nah, I don't ever plan on going national or into serious competition. This is just for fun, just with the local club.

It's silver, but the lighting does make it look white, doesn't it?

After defending that I like it so much for so long though, I'm actually thinking of having it removed.

I did mine out of magnet material as well. FYI, most clubs require 8" numbers, 4" letters. Some regional clubs are starting to require this to pass tech. If you've ever worked a corner with 3 cars on course at a time and you try to read little ass numbers, you'll understand why!

                  yup, 8" numbers, 4" class

i bought magnetic material from Dick Blick [localish art store] printed off numbers, cut them out, and spray painted them.

Advice, DO NOT THROW THEM IN THE TOOL BOX!! Make sure they are on a smooth surface when not in use. I stick mine to the underside of the trunk lid.

So you know who kicked your ass.

One of mine slid down onto the header at the last event. I was driving around with a half melted DSP on the car.

I have this really good friend that's always been obsessed with the number 48, I'm talking saves everything with the number 48 on it. Reciepts with fast food order numbers, raffle tickets, anything. So by hanging out with him for so long, it just kind of became the number I pick for everything, it's the first number that pops into my head.

As far as the sizing, they're not going to make a fuss. Our local club is pretty laid back about that kind of thing. We never do more than one car on a course at a time, so the number of each car is recorded in the timing booth when they go out.
