I hope you used something thicker than that - those look pretty damn flimsy.

I'm not quite as tall as you, but at 6'3" I do tend to have trouble fitting in some cars, and whenever I put a race seat in a BMW I make sure to keep the sliders/mount as short as possible. As a co-driver with others of different heights in most of the cars I race/build, we always need a slider, and the Sparco sliders have proven a favorite of mine for cost, weight, design safety and functionality.

I went through a full custom bracket + Sparco slider + UltraShield seat build-up in our E30 in this thread: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=112292

Just a note: We don't make anything to sell for anything to do with a seat, bracket or slider, as seen in the thread linked above (or here) - just sharing the tech. I've been accused by a couple of haters as only posting here to sell parts. That's obviously not the case.

In my car with no sunroof I have probably half an inch of headroom with the stock sport seat in "race" position. Since this car is my daily I want to keep a reclinable seat. Are there any sidemount reclinables? I'm wondering if theres a way to just gain another inch of headroom with a different aftermarket seat/slider/mount combo.

Oh I'm 6'7 btw. If you can live without it, I would delete the sunroof and buy a non-sunroof headliner. I cannot even nearly fit into e30s with regular seats/sunroof, but I have lots of room in my iS.

Buddy Club USA's Web Store for Replacement Parts and Special Deals

They only make one seat. :) It's offered in regular and large versions. I had a good deal on the large version, but skinny as I am, it still holds me amazingly well. With a Schroth 6pt harness, I am not moving anywhere. :)

I had a welding shop make some simple mild steel brackets, then I painted them. Then just measured the mounting holes and drilled. And I'm 6'5" and have the ACS replica seats from ebay with the sliders they came with.

Looks like I will have to do something similar to this. @ 6'8" space is at a premium in my car. My e46 I have no problems but with my e30 my knees hit the wheel if I am driving with shoes on... :(

Have you called Jenny yet? :p

I dunno what 415mm works with as for waist, but I've had some pretty big guys (225lbs~) that fit very snug and comfortable in it.

Seriously though, I overlooked a simple fact about this seat that might turn off some daily drivers. But since we're in track and auto-x I left it out:

This seat has massive leg bolsters. Getting in and out of that seat is ok..... and when you're in, the seat is VERY comfy, but you do look ridiculous getting in and out of it.

I learned how to monkey bar myself into the seat by swinging off the roll cage on my car. :p

Yeah, I was just using that picture as an example. 1/8" thick iron is what I used. Tough to beat for a $10 set of seat brackets. Add in a couple dozen bolts and you're in business!
