sure - I'll give you the R32. But I can still hate the cars after that and think they are seriously overrated.The Skyline GTR was such a successful and dominating race car that it actually ruined a number of racing series because it won too much. It was undefeated in it's first year of introduction, and it was even banned in some series because there was no competition. It really does deserve its status and rating.
I don't honestly see how someone can praise the E30 M3 and insult the Skyline GTR when they're essentially the exact same thing.
And the same thing about "regular Skylines" could be said about the regular narrow body E30's compared to the E30 M3...Leave a comment:

r32 = e30M3
r33 = e36M3
r34 =e46M3
r35 = e9xM3
Yup, its all true... downhill slope.Leave a comment:

That's a very good point... The e30 M3 is a race car, pure and simple, as is the R32 GTR. They were both designed to be production racers. However, as with the e36 M3 and the R33 GTR, they started straying away from the racing roots to make it more streetable. And so on and so on. But anyway, back to the bashing of the R35! :DLeave a comment:

Although it will probably be ignored, and bashing will continue XD.Leave a comment:

I've seen a lot of them in the vancouver, BC area - most of them aren't the high end GT-Rs either, they're usually N/A RWD slugs. Heavy, bloated understeering POS that every ricer wannabe drools over. ugh. I wouldn't drive a skyline if you gave it to me (unless I could sell it).

I've seen both. They're typically owned by 23 year old flat brimmed hat wearing douchenozzles who would spend $40k to import a japanese "sports car". Then they spend $20k another on carbon fiber overlay, upgraded engine parts and ballin' wheels. And they still can't drive the fucking things worth a damn.Well, I've seen only a couple. I'm sure the majority of Skylines that you guys see on a day-to-day basis are the ~low-200 bhp RWD GTS versions, but I was referring to the AWD GT-R version. All I'm basing it off of is tests and people's opinions, but it sounds like your typical AWD + turbo recipe which normally equates in spectacular launches and low-end torque.
It's not everyone's cup of tea, and certainly nothing like an E30, but if it were me and someone offered a trade, I'd probably consider it. Their image has been tarnished by the JDM kids, movies, etc., but in terms of performance, they deliver.
I've known ONE guy who could drive his pretty decently, and wasn't an ass. He sold it to buy a P-car (may have been a GT-3 actually). I wonder why? :pLeave a comment:
