6-8 months ago I put together a groupbuy for the e30 m3 guys on s14.net to get some 15x8 et20 5 lug track wheels. I went forward with Rota and had a little over 100 wheels made in the slipstream design in silver and hyper black.
After many delays they finally delivered the shipment to their California warehouse. When I went to inspect them I found that they were drilled wrong and created without any inspection of any kind. They drilled the 5 lug pattern onto the back pad designed for 4 lug wheels. (significantly smaller in diameter). This resulted in the holes being drilled right on the edge of the back pad. Also because of how they drilled the bolt holes, you can't use the stock 17mm lug but instead have to use a 14mm allen bolt style lug and an adapter to install them.
After I declined the entire shipment, Rota said they were sending them back their factory to melt them down. Just recently Erik H. who was part of the GroupBuy posted a link pointing out an ebay listed for the very same wheels I had produced. Rota sold them to somebody instead of destroying them and they are now on eBay.
DO NOT BUY THESE WHEELS, They are completely untested and a danger to put on a street vehicle let alone a track or race car. I'm disgusted with Rota for doing this, not to mention how upset I was during the whole process of ordering them. STAY AWAY from these wheels.
They are currently being sold by aspecwheels on eBay. They may be sold by others as well.
Here are images of how messed up the wheels are
