I was curious what classes e30's run in for SCCA solo II? I was reading in my Bently manual that these cars do not have camber adjustment without buying something that I cannot remember what the name of it is right now and when you buy it you can only get 1/2 degree of negative camber at the most. Thanks!

It depends on the specific model.

FWIW a set of camber plates will add the adjustment you are after. And they are legal in everything above the stock classes.

I had have to peruse the rules, but I thought that's what I remembered.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

BMW did indeed make "crash correcting" bushings for both the rtabs and the front upper strut mounts. I've only ever seen the front ones for sale, though, and they are like 3x the cost of normal mounts.
To the OP, I'm actually running in STX right now. If your car has a factory LSD, then it will jump directly from the stock class to STX if you add any class-changing mods to it. At least, that is the jump I made.

^There are still some mods you can do and remain in D Stock, you don't just automatically jump to the street tire class. But an E30 isn't going to be competitive in D Stock.
I don't believe you have to use the BMW bolts, but since BMW specifies the use of them in the service manual, they are legal.
*going to read rulebook*
13.8 E
If authorized by the manufacturer, the use of shims, special bolts,
removal of material to enlarge mounting holes, and similar
methods are allowed and the resulting alignment settings are
permitted even if outside the normal specification or range of
specifications recommended by the manufacturer. If enlarging
mounting holes is specifically authorized but no material removal
limits are specified, material removal is restricted to the
amount necessary to achieve the maximum factory alignment
specification.
That doesn't indicate to me it has to be the stock stuff, AKD adj delrin RTABs.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

Sounds like a good setup DSP. Most of that you can do in STX; why not race in that class?Last edited by gearheadE30; 11-30-2008, 01:20 PM.

I'm kind of kicking myself for not keeping that in mind.
FWIW all the de-optioning I did=manual windows, sound system delete, trunk tar, OBC delete etc is only legal in Street Prepared. Also cars delivered with A/C will have to have it in S/T classes next year. And that stuff while not flashy was a little on the expensive side, as well as being quite a bit of work.
FWIW I really want R-compound's as the fun factor goes WAY up.sigpic
