Avatars / Sig Pics that are NWS

Question regarding avatars and sig pics that are NWS:

What is the point of having a NWS section of the forum (Off-Topic Lounge) when there are MANY avatars and sig pics out there that are NWS... ?

I don't use R3V when I'm at work --- I use it only when I'm at home. I use NWS tags to decide if I can look at a thread when wife / neighbor's kids are around...

... but all of the avatars and sig pics with tits and boobs and squirrels with big dicks and everything else defeat the purpose of doing this --- and of course, I always end up opening these threads in front of the wrong people.

IS there a forum policy on this? And if there isn't, is there GOING to be one... ?

My feeling is that if we ARE going to allow these things, then the whole forum should be NWS, because obviously these avatars and sig pics are not safe for work (or "family", if you want to look at it that way too).

Call me a prude or a stuffy old fart. I don't care. Let's just make it consistent.

Every user can choose to NOT display sigs and or avatars by themselves .


Click on "User CP"
Then click "Edit Options"
Scroll down to "Thread Display Options"
Once in the "Visible Post Elements" section just uncheck avatars and or sigs
Then scroll down and click "Save Changes"


Done deal , no mas naked booby sigs or avatars .

Yeah, you can de-select the avatars / sigs in CP, I know. I like to see all the avatars and sigs --- I just hate having all the NWS stuff hanging out there in the breeze when I'm at home, and my wife goes "Um, what is that? Are you looking at porn?" or whatever.

But if that's the only answer (the CP), then that's what it is.

Im in the same boat, I like the NWS stuff but it sucks when I am at work... and its annoying having to switch back on the avatars and stuff when I am back at home.

j/k, id gladly remove mine if thats the rule. i always end up with shit popping up at work that i REALLY don't want on my screen, because people always post random stuff here. it is a PITA. I figured my avatar is so small it's nearly impossible to see unless you are right in front of the screen. but, like i said, i'll gladly remove it if people want me too.

I'm inclined to agree, a lot of people do browse at work, and at home around kids/family. So I think it might be a good idea if people removed any NWS sigs and avatars. I'm not going to enforce this with an iron fist, but if everyone would just take it upon themselves to go along, I'm sure everyone would appreciate it.
