I'd suggest going to your options and disabling sigs and avatars. Your pages will even load faster.
Right. But, I want to be able to promote R3V to my customers. It is VERY uncomfortable for me to tell people that R3V is the best E30 forum, when there is VERY offensive (to some, not me) signatures and avatars.
Imagine how I look in my customer's eyes...

I'm inclined to agree, a lot of people do browse at work, and at home around kids/family. So I think it might be a good idea if people removed any NWS sigs and avatars. I'm not going to enforce this with an iron fist, but if everyone would just take it upon themselves to go along, I'm sure everyone would appreciate it.
Maybe start with an announcement, then after 30 days, most will have been removed, and people will flag posters that are in violation. Shouldn't take too much effort?

My solution was right in front of me the entire time. I have the Adblock add on for Firefox. Any time I see an avatar or sig that I think might land me in the doghouse should my wife see it, or if I just don't like someone's pics for whatever reason, I just Right Click>Adblock Image. It allows me to sanitize my R3V experience without stepping on other's toes.

PS I realize this doesn't help your issue with referring the site, Funkmaster, but at least you could clean up how it looks on your browser at work.
