Get new tires is about the biggest plan i have at the moment...haha

when doing some research alot of the suspension parts have to b specific. and the only springs i have seen for it are sports..

so just try and pull some dents, and hopefully repaint some of the flares..

"Race Drop 325ix Springs: This type of spring offers the most aggressive drop possible. Springs in this category drop most vehicles anywhere from 1.75 inches to 2.5 inches, and for some vehicles, even up to 3 inches. This type of suspension set up is only recommended for BMW 325ix owners who want an extreme drop and super low center of gravity, but at the expense of an adverse daily drive. Approaching steep driveways and large speed bumps at an angle (aka angling) may be required in order to prevent scraping the bottom of your 325ix. Additionally, a camber correction kit may be required if your tires are “butterflying” (showing positive camber as oppose to being perpendicular to the road). Examples: BMW 325ix Eibach Sport-Line Springs, BMW 325ix H&R Race Springs, BMW 325ix Tein S. Tech Springs, BMW 325ix Tanabe Sustec Gf210 and Df210 Springs, BMW 325ix RSR Race Springs "

There are several options like moving the motor to the rear of the engine bay which may require a little pounding on the firewall which will help with the weight distribution. Removing the air conditioning and a lite hood should get you pretty close to the weight difference of 57 pounds between the M20 and the M30. The M30 3.5 can be had at the junk yard for around $250. You will need some other parts like motor mounts, oil pan and a push fan. The other issue to research is the transmission which is different on the big 6. One of my friends is doing this swap to his Alpina build. He is going to turbo the M30 for a little more top end and is looking for about 400 hp. I want to do this swap on a future build so I don't know all the details but it should be here on R3V or if you have specific question regarding the parts needed I can ask my friend what he is using.

                Cheers,

                Jim

Dude I went through the entire m30 swap process on my last e30. One of the easiest engines to swap.

On your car the wiring is plug and play. The only custom part of the swap are the motor mount arms, but there are people who sell them here for about $250.

Hit me up if you want specifics. I got yo back.

However, before you go doing engine swaps you should learn how to put a sway bar in.

rob knows he can have some used coils for cheap. After all i can't be rocking a prototype coilover kit once i have a production version. Just wouldn't seem right.

I don't see why not. The rates feel pretty good on s52 swapped and turbo cars so an m30 should be fine.
