so my car is running like shit atm.... i know i know i will fix it tomorrow. i install a fuel pressure gauge after the FPV just to see what it reads. It threw a CEL , sadly i have a 153 ecu. Car ran ok with the cel just a loss of power. So tonight i swapped in my spare 173 ( un opened ) and the car would idle at 500 then die if i didnt give it gas. I was able to drive it to my other job to do a stomp test. Got these numbers the first time.

1211 DME Control Unit 1211 - DME, Motronic computer, related fault - which may indicate problem with car computer itself. Delete any stored codes and perform following test: Start the car and let it run for 30 seconds; Turn off car and let it sit for another 30 seconds; Perform diagnostic test again; If the same flash code re-appears DME should be replaced

started it up and then shut it off after 10secs. Next code,

1222 Lambda Control #1 1222 - Lambda control fault code is produced when Motronic system in Bosch control unit receives signal indicating that air/fuel mixture is either excessively rich or excessively lean for period of time loner then 10 seconds. Majority of the causes that affect drivability of the car can be responsible for DME flashing this error:
air leak
defective Air Flow Meter ( AFM)
bad engine temperature sensor
incorrect fuel pressure
problem with injector(s)
defective evaporation system
empty gas tank
issue with spark plugs
problem with valves
etc.

i swapped back in my chipped 153 , cel went off, pulled great , when i came to a stop a few mins later would chug idle at 500. No cel yet.... when i pulled into my drive way , the cel came on... So gay, Ill take off that gauge and D/C the battery to reset the DME. See what happens.
