70% of getting hired these days is who you know and and how good they think you know at doing what you know. The other 20% is if your a decent employee and work hard. The last 10% is grads an crP. If you've got your foot in the door, generally friendly, and the management even remotely recognizes your name, your already a step ahead of most of the competition. I've had plenty of buds in college who, after the graduated, turned their small part-time internships into a full-time job without having amazing grades or trying very hard to get the job simply cause people on the inside already knew them.
College isn't just about grades and classes. Networking puts you very far in life as well..
