Its soft padding as opposed to hard foam. Meaning it has some give for a very comfortable fit.

Nigel, talking bikes, how interested would you be in helping me fabricate a go kart, i got a yamaha 600fzr thats sitting collecting dust that i would love to get some ridiculous fun out of, off road use only is fine for me.
