the new cylinder is in, but in the ridiculous excavation process the ignition switch fell apart...and my attempt to put it back together was a definite fail.
yep, #3. the red plastic clips were old and brittle, and i unintentionally put too much stress on the wires while holding the upper column plastic out of the way to drill. the little springs and ball fell out and now it won't turn over and the accessories don't work. whomp whomp whomp.
