Seemed like cheaper plastic. (not carbon infused like a set I had for the last car) Fit fine on the hub, a little tight in the CB, but together no go. Don't remember where. Just ordered some from Gorilla-auto, should be here today. I would love to get a sleeve welded in, but it seems shops that will do that are notorious for sloppy work. Might go to a regular machine shop for that.

Ah yes, I remember now. Was from American Racing. The machining on it was terrible. Like a kid with a home made CNC router. They stuck on the car so I had to kick the wheels off....no bueno as I swap between wheels quite often, and I am NOT going to spend time wrestling a wheel off, or putting one on to travel back home after an HPDE or AutoX session.

Why not buy a set of aluminum rings? If you call Discount Tire Direct on the phone they'll sell you a set. They're $15 last I checked. I think Ryan at Motorsport Hardware can get rings too.

^^^Already on that too! Just as stated by the rep at BBS, rings may not be the right way to go on this OEM wheel due to the CB design.

        Update: here's the reason:

See the locking lip on the ring? The oem wheel won't accommodate that, especially as the ring is ~1.5mm thick. So it may get pushed too far in as the CB on the wheel also has a decreasing lip just past where the hub would mount. I'll see how this Gorilla ring works out compared to the (terrible) American Racing.

          Good Morning, TGIF!

Picked up the M3 at the tint shop yesterday. It took them two days because the 20 year old tint was a PITA to get off. I LOL and told them I have done 3 cars and can feel their pain. First time I have gotten a tint job done on a car in 41 years of driving cars. Driving home in the afternoon I could not roll down the windows and I don't have air conditioning so it was like being in a sauna.

Matt, can't wait to see your car at socal vintage. The only suggestions that I have for you is to request that they use black primer. I can't understand why paint shops use gray primer on black cars. They probably get the gray in bulk and it is less expensive for them but it's just not right. When I paint the Mtech I will pay extra for the black primer if need be.

          Cheers,

          Jim

Yes sir Jim, I have a LOT to go over with them once I'm there. They'll probably want to kill me.

Let's see some pics of the new tint! What percentage is it?

                    how about this:

i have lots of euro grills heading across the water right now. $50 now gets you a pair in two weeks.

any takers? they're all original and in good, uncracked shape.

I will post a picture tomorrow after I wash it. Don't joke me about the stock wheels please.

I had them use LLumar Formula One Pinnacle 35%. Here is a link to their site for more details. http://www.formulaone.com/en/pinnacle.aspx This is full Nano Ceramic so no dye to fade, the inside has a Teflon base coating so it cleans easy and is scratch resistant. I think that is like a watch being water resistant.

                        Cheers,

Sure I can google it but while I'm here, i heard there's a clear tint available that actually keeps the inside of the car getting too hot? myth?

Also, where can I get used 205/45/16s cheap? As well as an i lip.

It is actually a very light blue but almost unnoticeable. I would have done that on the front windshield but with all the chips my windshield has I felt it was not the right time to do it. I was told that the tint I got as well as the light blue tint reduces the interior heat by over 50% by the installer.

                              Cheers,
