why not try a small independent shop who has a reader and can reset the light for you?

A broken trace on the instrument cluster PCB can also cause the brake lining light to stay on. I personally never had that problem but I have heard of it. Run a search."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

just remove the bulb from the back of the cluster. problem solved.
