so ive been trying to find an answer. everyone says i should have a green or orange label on my trans for the correct oil. however mine has a black label on it. that takes gear oil right?

Most likely a gear oil trans. Either way you can run gear oil because the internals between them all are no different.

yeah my current trans has 80/90 in it. im rebuilding my original one right now :) everything looks great! although I wont know for sure till i get a micrometer.
