Si. I was all over it. It was a front end collision. Frame rails and inner fenders are straight. New core support, windshield, headlights, and grills. 135k miles, new tires, clean interior, everything works, drives smooth. I told him to only pay 3k but he just had to have it. At least the registration and smog were just paid. Thats worth a couple hundred.

Originally posted by MR 325 View PostI would say fight for all you can on a payout, take the cash and the salvaged title, buy the car back, fix it yourself, make it a cheap track rat, and buy another DD! That's what Matt Russell would do.
yes! He'll make more by keeping salvage and selling it than he would have selling it just on his own.
Originally posted by ethrtyiS View Postthat's precisely what i was looking at doing. payout, but back, store it and when i get back and have the time, i'll send it off to get fixed abd get a new dd.
however, i've never done this sooo i really don't know what to do.
if you want to keep/drive it you'll eventually need to have it looked over by the state. I'd sell it after getting your payoff and not dealing with the salvage process, or do an s50 transplant in your red turd.1989 325is / 2.7, 274 cam, e30 M3 5-lug
