So I'm a firm believer that's 3.23 diff is the way to go. I can boost harder in 1st gear, hit 65 at 7000rpm in second, third gear is more fun and fourth gear is now pretty much what 5th used to be. Fullerton is great, there's a cool little Pub/Restaurant there that is themed exactly like an English pub, and have the best fish and chips in SoCal (in my opinion) it's called The Olde Ship, other than that I know nothing about Fullerton haha2ean (Sean?), after thinking about it last night that is exactly the conclusion I came to. Id rather have the short commute for the 5 days and deal with the traffic when I am out and about than vice versa. Plus the places I found in Fullerton all have one car garages and thats an important thing for me

I do agree. Doing the math in Excel shows with my 235/40/17 with ZF trans 1rst is 37, 2nd 63, 3rd 94, 4th 127 and 5th 157. Right now I have a 2.93 which I want to swap out. The 3.23 would give me exactly what an E36 M3 would be geared at as well as the rollout.So I'm a firm believer that's 3.23 diff is the way to go. BTW stating that 5th is now overdrive would be wrong. You didn't change the transmissions ratio to 1:1 or less, unless you are still using the Getrag which did have overdrive.Last edited by R3Z3N; 08-09-2013, 08:23 PM.

I have a getrag. I'm still m20. I was debating between 3 different diffs at my disposal (2.93 and 3.46 were the other options). It can't really boost in 5th anymore. stupid drive shaft wont come apart. i got the collar nut unscrewed, but it seems like the splines are frozen on there. no visible rust, i think its dirt and grease. no collapsing action whatsoever. soaked it few times in oil. better come apart tomorrow, i wanna get this motor in!-FREEDOM- is cruisin at 80, windows down and listening to the perfect song-thinking "this is it"
