An e36 m3 isn't worth it ; they are POS's that weigh more than a tank. Sure, they have "upgraded" interior pieces , and are more luxurious. But IMO they aren't worth it. That's why I got back into an e30.

'upgraded' interior shouldn't creak or fall apart at the seams..or look and feel cheaper.

I think it has more to do with people who consider themselves enthusiast don't sell their car. Unless its to buy a cleaner version of the same car. Picking up side flips is a little different.

I own one now. Everything you said may be true for the b5 and newer chassis. I have a C4 (old 5 cylinder turbo beast). Suspension is painfully similar to BMW and simpler in some ways. The old Audis are always looked down upon because they are misunderstood and fall into the category the news ones do, which is unfortunate. Easy to work on. Have more options than any e36 had. It does weigh more than the moon though.

Point is, I'm selling mine and its better than an e36. So there.

I do agree that the older pre B5s are better. I would LOVE to have a UR-Quattro :p

a e36 m3 is 3175 , a loaded 88+ 325is is about 2850 or so. Not much more of a boat. power to weight ratio is much better.

Ive always thought the e36 was ALOT heavier than a e30 but after finding out its not by much.

Its like having a grown man and a sound system in your e30...

Ive driven a 30 with a 228 whp obd1 s52 and it didnt feel crazy fast. It was fast but nothing super crazy. I dont expect my m3 to feel crazy fast ether. But for the money its better than a over price e30.

This. Didn't know we had to take a loss on cars when selling them just so we can make everyone feel better about the deal.

Also e30 over e36 every time. Even though my dad just beat me this weekend at autox..... Because street tires

It was actually $3000 + HKS GT30. but why does that ever matter? I didn't make a killing, still lost money. I was able to recover some of my money. Still lost about $2500. Are you comparing weight to power on an e30 s52 or stock for stock?

nothing, just saying that's a pretty good deal, on any any level. stock for stock.

You just compared the price you paid for your e36 to normal priced e30, most m3s go for 6-10k.

Also the weight to power between just a 325i e30 and e36 is close, considering Travis and I were neck and neck on the freeway both stock cars. And I have 2 more doors.

Both cars have their pros and cons.

my early "e" wiring harness had this green box that plugged in right next to the ecu above the glovebox, but my late model harness is missing this. is it still needed? what did it do?
