I stayed up literally all night Sunday/Monday night thinking about some random girl who I've never even spoken to. I'm sure it's at least a bit more glamorous than thatOriginally posted by VokuhilaI laughed, and then I seriousedComment

944 Turbos are finicky, most are molested. Im using a 944S setup which is like Porsches version of the S14 or Cosworth benz. 2.5L 4 banger pushing ~190bhp. I prefer NA power. LS swaps into 944's are pretty awesome IMO. Awesome balance, plenty of power and easier to maintain than the turbo. Porsche stuff is BIG money, its fun to dream though. The 944 and 914 are the only real affordable ones left and pretty much every 914 has rust unless they've been restored.Simon

Can anyone recommend a good shop in the LA area that does engine swaps? I've heard of Castro's and JMP and since they're a bigger shop, I'm assuming their rates would be a bit higher than a smaller shop. This summer, after my spring semester is over, I'm planning on swapping an S50 into my car. Since I don't have space at home or the know-how to do it, I want to give it to a shop. I've already asked 2 shops that I know of and I was quoted about 6-7k for the swap, which is fair, but I want to ask around a little more. I'm not looking for a full rebuild on the engine before having it put in. I just want the shop to buy the engine and put it in. So if anyone knows of any good shops, please let me know. Thanks!
