i wonder if reporting this to BMW Customer Care would result in them covering you due to a safety issue.. haha they wouldnt want a recall on their hands if more of them were to break...

quick question i can't find the answer
on these new tie rods does that rubber thing need a bigger boot?
my stock one doesn't have it and also the hole is way too small.

Looks like what you had on the car is an e36 boot.
E30 ones have that rubber guide and bigger hole boot that sits on the guide. bottom one is the correct e30 boot.

It's more likely that the contact points haven't been lubricated in years and caused some binding. 35 year old car, can't expect all of it to last forever.

Just replaced the wiper arm damper grommet, god they were bad. Half missing and the rest was all crumbly. Fairly easy too.

My newest wrench is selling his e30. 84/85 eta, probably something like 430k miles- it's on odometer number four, I think.

He's owned it 15 years and wrenched on it for 4 years before that. Tons of records. Fresh subframe bushings and control arm bushings, all the work that it's ever needed it's gotten because he wanted to be able to drive it anywhere at any time.

It has accident history from early in its life, no idea about the status of the title.

Manual, cloth sport seats, white over Antrazit. Exterior is presentable but not perfect, interior has wear but better than most. Driver's seat is pretty torn up but not horrible.

Comes with a 2.93 LSD that needs rebuild, has an open in the car currently.

He's asking $3250 obo. Get in and drive; timing belt's recent and has about 4k miles. Shoot me a PM if you're interested and I'll get you pics and his number.

It can be seen at my shop in Fallbrook or likely anywhere along with 15 between Temecula and SD.
