58 in a 35 is what I was ticketed for. I'm sure I wasn't going that fast, felt more like 50-53, I was going up a steep hill/canyon road and was behind like 2 cars who were probably going less than 58 lol. I didn't want to be a douche to the guy as he wasnt really giving me a hard time so I just cooperated to the best of my ability. I was definitely speeding for sure but not almost twice the speed limit so I kinda wanna go to court and just ask to have the fine lessened by showing my pay stub and maybe some waterworks. My boss said I might get lucky as I'm not necessarily contesting, just asking for a break. I do want to try that calibration excuse though.

they will probably ignore any pay stub or paperwork you provide unless you provide proof of evidence to make it seem like you weren't speeding, or at least that quickly, use this information if the question of calibration fails, i would contest it either way if you are going to court, and not willing to just pay the fine and be done with it. you never know. i've been lucky with my cases. i won once because i was able to extend it over a year and the other one i brought so much evidence and proof that i persuaded the judge to favor my excuse.

edit: of course, if you just wanna pay up, then ask the judge if you an get the fine reduced seeing this is your first offence and tell him it was a complete accident and that rest assured i will not be doing it again. sucker up.

As for the fine, I got caught doing 50 in a 35 but that was 240 bucks. I'm hoping it's no more than 400 though. Sucks knowing you saved big fafsa bucks shopping smart for books intending to treat yo-self and your car but instead end up having to pay off a bitch ticket.

ahhh, well then you defintely won't get it reduced i can tell you that much. haha. just fight it and hope you win. make sure you bring tons and tons of information, i don't know how many times i've seen people stand up against the cop and have something they did in 5 minutes or nothing at all, while the cop has a whole folder of information. if you come prepared, you may just win the case.

it'll be EXTREMELY hard to fight a laser though. but you always want to fight, you just might be lucky, worst comes to worse, you pay the ticket big whoop, gunna have to pay anyways.
