Mikey, you have wisdom beyond your years. Whoever taught you this gave you a valuable lesson. Just don't get a degree in something worthless like Victorian poetry.

That is if you can find a job once you get out of college. If you don't, you're screwed and the interest for those loans keeps rising. I'd rather be debt free out of college so I can start my life the way I want instead of worrying about my college debt.

The interest is fixed for the most part, and like I said, it's low.
You'll find a job. It's what you make out of it.
This is if you NEED student loans.

I'm not here to argue with you or anyone, I'm encouraging you.

you can't go living in the fear of not succeeding. i probably won't get my dream job out of school, but who cares? i'm not too proud to work in a coffee shop or something until i find what i'm looking for. as abby has been saying the interest is low and deferred, so it's not as though i'll immediately go bankrupt as soon as i graduate.

no offense intended, but your logic is a little flawed.

Fair enough, but I guess my point was that I don't like being in debt. Also... I don't want to continue working as a waiter my whole life.

why would you be a waiter your whole life if you had a college degree? no drive?

Barista is such a sexy word.

Disturbing when you have Mike and Chris paired with it

yeah, i know, i've been thinking about enlisting for a little while but never really mentioned it to anyone until yesterday where my parents thought it was a joke. i'm going to see a recruiter on wednesday and i'll ask a ton of questions as well as ask a few of my buddies who have served/serving. not expecting too much from the recruitment office though. as of right now. i'm leaning more towards sticking with just school since i'm already pretty far in. i appreciate you're concern.

not in it for the pay. plus, who cares what you are getting pay when you get all your living expenses, water/power, education, etc paid for and still receive a check. plus, i'm pretty sure generals earn something around 20k a month.
