In So Cal, I've heard that it all comes down from the North in one pipe. Once in the trucks, some of the different companies add the detergents that meet the "Top Tier" standard. I suppose if you used Arco, then added Techron or something equivalent, you'd have the same thing. It's just a matter of how much.

I asked what was your reason. Going off of what Ben says still shows you have no real reason for not liking arco other then what you've heard from other people with out knowing if the person has any real information or just more internet chatter. And a rusty tank at a particular station does not have any direct correlation with the gas that is produced at the refinery. You never said ARCO clogged up your fuel pump so that must not be your reason. I've already stated they are not listed in the top tier list because of their lack of detergent levels. Hence their slogan "straight up gas". You never said you were worried about having enough detergents. Just that it is mud.


I don't like _____ because _____________________. (Filling in the blank with information that you know to be factual from personal experience or a report recently conducted by an independent 3rd party company) is not a hard thing to do if your argument has legs to stand on. Just curious if you actually have a real reason behind your disdain for arco.

I'm not trying to say arco is just as good as chevron. Just asking you why arco is crap that should not be used in anything but a rental car. Hope you don't think i'm trying to pick on you or anything.
