so i popped the cap, but it looks like this uses a square cut o'ring. im stumped. where does this go!

Are you sure its square cut and not just deformed from use. I've taken out plenty of used o-rings that looked "square". Its just a sign that it needs to be replaced.

hmm, i thought about this. just hate to break it while removing it and end up needing to have to wait to put the motor together because i need to buy this one gasket.

seriously no one has replaced this part before? surly they would know if it should be square cut or not- or where these go. does no one reseal there motor anymore?

They only recently stopped production on the T1i. I bought mine new a little over a year ago. Plus he's including a couple hundred bucks worth of stuff you could sell you don'y plan on shooting a lot of video.

You can't compare a base model xt to a T1 or even a 40d. Its only an 8mp camera and he wants over $400 with a lens.

That 20d was introduced 9 years ago, is only 8mp, and does not do video.

The nikon D80 is only 10.1mp and does not do video

The D3100 came out 1 year later then the T1i and has lower resolution. It does not come with any extra goodies either.
