it was bound to happen. . .

got a loud exhaust ticket in the valley a few nights ago so now Im in the market for a quiet 3 inch muffler. The good news is that I have the magnaflow cat and muffler section V-banded. Anyone know of a good muffler I could use to pass the inspection and keep or sell me ones used to pass their inspection?? ( Im honestly getting tired of loud exhausts )
My current setup is OBD1 S52, SS rep manifold, magnaflow cat and XR1 Borla.

I read good things about Dynomax and Vibrant but youtube clips make them sound like Hondas.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Spintech mufflers sound great on nearly all applications and the awesome thing about spintech is they have no packing inside so they wont blow out OR get louder and louder as time progresses.

If you just need to pass a sound inspection, throw a center muffler on there or a stock rear section.

:D :D But IIRC you had 2 mufflers no? Ill see how much room I have to squeeze in a 2nd muffler or just ditch the Xr1 Borla and put in a mama muffler lol . . . shame cuz my Borla is practically new with less than 1500 miles =/

Taylor: Ill look into spintech , any part number to look for?
.....oh and the stock rear would work but mine is a single 3 inch......high flow and quiet are two things Im shooting for.

haha yeah, that's for sure, I woulda been toast.
...well its a shame because it has a nice deep V8 sounding growl down low but cant stand that annoying drone in the mid-range =/

What mufflers have you played around with? John was telling me you have pretty much tried every muffler on the market for bimmers lol

Except a Vibrant, which he's always wanted to run. :p

Like Matt, I had 5 different exhaust set-ups. Listen to the people with actual experience.

I have 3 inch with a cherry bomb in the center and my rear muffler is from an e36 m3 catback.

Chris is right though. Vibrant sounds great.
